4/28/2005 01:33:00 PM|||Garnet|||I have a dilema!
My final ECE class that I'm in right now is actually a lab class in which I have been required to log 60 hours this semester in the classroom. Thus far, I have logged 72.5 hours. So I'm good to go. The semester doesn't end until May 9. Most of the kids in the class that I've been working with are graduating tomorrow and will be slowly dropping out of the classroom early next week as their parents' classes start tapering off. I had previously agreed to come in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings through the end of the semester. Even though I don't need the hours to pass the class, and I'm not on the payroll so they'd basically be getting me to work for them for free.
Here's my dilema....to bail or not to bail, that is the question.
I could really use the extra time next week to finish up my final projects and test studying and such. But on the other hand, it's only three hours each morning and who'm I kidding...I'll probably spend that time blogging anyway!
I don't particularly like working there for free but on the other hand, why not since I have been all this time...two more days won't kill me.
They will be very low on kids next week (see above) so they probably won't be short-handed or in need of more teachers. On the other hand, I did ask the lead teacher in the room today if she'll need me next week and she said yes, without even giving it much thought.
That lead teacher mostly ignores me unless I have an activity or evaluation that I need her help with. Most of the time I get no respect from her.
The director there offered me a job in the fall. I would do it only if that current lead teacher isn't there. Rumor has it she is currently seeking employment elsewhere. I work well with the other teachers and will probably get more respect once I'm on the payroll.
I am so torn. I keep thinking I'll call the director and tell her I can't come in anymore next week. But then I stop and think it's no big deal and to just go in anyway.
I seriously can't decide. I am so good at making things way more complicated than they need to be! This is a case in point!
Any suggestions are welcome!
In other news, my sis-in-law is working as the stage manager for this dinner theater. They've got great food and all their shows have been awesome! But they are in DIRE need of increased audience attendance this weekend or their current show (Rocky Horror!) will be cancelled. So I'm rounding up a bunch of people to go this weekend! If you're in the Colorado Front Range area and are interested in going, please email me at abbey at myhoneyandme dot com. I can hook you up with free tickets (dinner and show) for tomorrow night if you act fast!
It's freezing here. I'm sure some homework will warm me up. Bah!|||111471772398009845|||Can't even decide
