While my Lab instructor was nothing but understanding and kind about the situation yesterday, there was nothing more she could do to give me the points to make up for that missing essay. It's entirely my fault so I'm not wasting any energy blaming her, the school, the web site, or whatever. I just plain did not see the assignment until yesterday. Without those points, it brings my final grade in the class from a solid A+ to a B. Such is life. I'm trying very hard to not be such a damned perfectionist when it comes to school (in the past three years that I've been back at college, I've only had one other B and that was because I just didn't go to all of the classes!). So now Honey can't brag to his folks that I have a 4.0 GPA. Oh well. Life goes on. Live and learn and all that.

My MIL came over the other day to talk about window treatments in our house. As I have mentioned before, one of my main projects this summer (along with losing weight) is to decorate the rooms of our house. She is an interior decorator - I don't know if it's a hobby or a lifestyle but she has access to direct suppliers and mucho discounts. So we measured the front windows (bay windows), the kitchen sliding door, and our bedroom window. In the front room, we decided on wooden blinds for all three windows and some draperies on the two side ones. In the kitchen, I'm going to install a ready-made curtain to replace the horrible venitian blinds that are currently there and always breaking. Finally, in our bedroom, we are going to replace the blinds with better quality ones to better block out the light in the mornings and install a swag decorative fabric along a curtain rod on top. Does any of this make sense to you? No? Well, fear not, once it's all installed, I'll post pictures for your enjoyment!
