Happy Weekend, Everyone! To celebrate this beautiful May Saturday, I'd like to share with you all just a sampling of some of my favorite Dave recordings. See below (I hope this works!):
- "Gravedigger" (Acoustic version) from Dave's solo album, Some Devil.
- "American Baby" The first single released for radio play from the new album Stand Up.
- "Dancing Nancies" Listen carefully to the lyrics, and the instruments, and the whole beautiful conglomeration. After eleven years, this song, from Under the Table and Dreaming, still ceases to amaze me!
- "Lover Lay Down" Sometimes I listen to this (and all of his other love songs) and pretend that he wrote this song for ME! (My friend Mandy thinks the same thing about her!) This one's from a live, intimate session called Live at Luther College Dave did with Tim Reynolds.
- "Seek Up (live)" This is a meaningful song to me. I adore the lyrics. This is from the Live at Red Rocks album and I just happened to be at that show! FAMOUS! There's a great version of "All Along the Watchtower" on this one, too.
- "The Dreaming Tree" Talk about a tearjerker! The whole album Before These Crowded Streets is full of songs like this - hopeless, wistful, and sometimes angry as heck!
I hope you enjoy these songs! They'll only stay up for a couple of days so don't miss out! If you like what you hear, GO OUT AND BUY THE ALBUMS!!!! Or follow the links I provided you to purchase them through the DMB website.
