6/06/2005 11:41:00 AM|||Garnet|||Happy Monday, everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was nice. Mine was good. Much more relaxed and fun than last weekend! Now I need to catch up on responses to comments for the past few days!
Re: Car Shows
I had a good time at the car show yesterday!!! The weather was lovely and we took the dog. Honey's dad was a judge so we ran into him a couple times on our tour of all the exotic cars. These were mostly sports cars like Lamborginis, Ferraris, Corvettes, BMWs, etc. Some cute, some a little too over the top. Of all the cars I saw there, I liked this Lotus the BEST!!!! Yeah, it's a 2005 and almost all the other cars were 1989 or older but so what! I like what I like! Most of all, I liked it because it is sort of reasonably priced.
Then Honey and I went off to shop for bicycles! My kick-ass bike that I got when I was 14 was stolen from me when I was 22. I haven't had a bike since. Instead, I got fat. But now that I'm losing weight and becoming more active, I really want a bike again!!! So we went to three different bike shops in town and tried a bunch out. This is the one I liked the best in our search so far. It's a bit pricey for my taste but we're not done looking. Our second wedding anniversary is coming up in a week so we're thinking of buying two bikes so we can ride together ("as Honeys" as my husband would say!).
Re: A Meme in Pictures
- My current favorite song is "Wagonwheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show. They're a modern bluegrass band. Apparently, that video is even shown on MTV2 and VH1 Country! I discovered the song when we were in Durango at the Bluegrass Festival. Another band covered the song and I loved it! So I bought the CD and I play that song over and over and over sometimes when I'm driving around in the car. It's so good!
- My favorite shoes are Crocs. I think I've mentioned them before. They're ugly and look like gardening shoes but they're super comfortable, durable and ventilated! Look at the feet of people you pass on the street this Summer. I bet you start seeing a lot more of them now!
Re: Thoughts on Reading
- Thank you to everyone who offered suggestions for books to add to my To-Read List! I haven't even heard of most of those authors you mentioned but now you've given me something to research and add to my shopping list, too!
- When I went to Borders the other night, all of the books I want are either not out yet or are still in hardcover and I really prefer paperbacks lately. Hardcovers are nice and all but they're so much more expensive and hard to hold up with one hand while you pet a kitty or puppy with the other hand!
- Welcome back Michelle!!! I've missed you!!!
Re: Not Totally Recovered Yet
I've located the camera but the battery's dead. Plugged it into the charger this morning and will hopefully find time to take some snapshots of our new furniture and/or arrangements today or tomorrow.
HOLD DA PHONE! Did I forget to mention that Saturday was our dog's second birthday?!?! Some of you have kids - we have pets; we all make a big deal out of it, right?! Anyway, we took Dobby to Petsmart and bought him a new bed, a new chew toy and a can of "treat" (wet) food (which he'd never had before!). We were going to take him to the Bark Park but it rained almost all day long and the entire night before so that wouldn't have been fun. He did get to visit with some of his favorite people over the weekend and was spoiled rotten as ever! He's worn out from all the fanfare!
We also saw Madagascar on Saturday. I laughed so hard at the little lemurs that I literally had tears streaming down my face. Cute movie. Go see it.
Well, I think this post is wordy enough! That's all for now, folks!|||111808170462489876|||Random Monday
