Back and neck are still healing. Have been to the chiro twice already this week and will go again tomorrow for another adjustment and an hour massage! HORRAY FOR MASSAGE!

Our anniversary was lovely as was Honey's day off with me yesterday. We bought my bike and ordered all kinds of upgrades for the bike that dad gave us for Honey to use. We got helmets, a bike computer, and other such gadgets that we couldn't live without. We did all this at the bike shop where my parents bought me my mountain bike about 15 years ago. They're a great company and very nice employees. They let us use a couple of substantial coupons that had expired a month ago and although they had originally told us that his bike wouldn't be ready until middle to late next week, they actually said that they would move up our "order" and try to have it all done and ready for both bikes to be picked up by this weekend! How sweet! Can't wait!

Yesterday I met briefly with my advisor at the college. It's only taken me four and a half years to complete an associates degree but yes, the end is in sight. I finally found out what I have left to take next fall and spring semesters to complete the degree and move on to another school for a bachelors and (maybe) eventually a masters. In what field, you may ask? Well, as I like to tell the administrators at school, "I'm in between goals at the moment!" I started this whole education endeavor in 2001 with the goal of completing my Group Leader and Director's certifications so that I could teach, direct and eventually run my own in-home child care center (like Maggie just started this week! She's my hero!). The two years of my part time classes in Early Childhood Education were fantastic as I began to make my dreams into realities! Then, as I progressed through the classes on the administrative side of the field, I slowly became disenchanted with the idea of running and operating my own center. Finally, at the end of last semester, I completed both my Group Leader and Director's certifications but was left with the strong feeling of wanting more. Not sure exactly what it is that I want...but it's more than just those certificates.

So I'm finishing up the associates degree in the next year. The great news is that I don't have to take any math classes again! The bad news is I have to take a history course. (these are my weakest areas of interest!) So, according to the list of required courses to complete the Associates of Arts degree that is guaranteed to transfer to any in-state four-year college, I have tentatively decided on the following schedule:

FALL 2005
SPE 125 Interpersonal Communication (this is a lovely alternative to public speaking and right up my alley!)
GEY 111 Physical Geology (I'm always asking my dad or my Honey such things as "how did the mountains get here?" or "where does natural gas come from anyway?" and I am continuously intrigued by their knowledge and responses. This class will fulfill half of my physical and life sciences requirements and be of much interest to me, I'm sure!)
HIS 101 Western Civilization OR HIS 201 US History (I hated Western Civ so much in high school that I failed it twice and didn't even know where the class met for the first month of classes because I never. even. went! But it might sustain my interest now. Not sure which would be better suited for me. Suggestions are welcome on both!)

SPRING 2006
GEY 112 Hisotrical Geology
and either a Survey of Humanities, Art History or Music History class to fulfill the Arts and Humanities requirements.

I also need to talk to an advisor at some schools I'm considering transferring to in Denver for my bachelor's degree. I am weighing my options between a degree in Psychology (like I wanted to do all through high school and my first year of college after graduation), Human Services, or Social Work. Psych's high on my list because it leaves a lot of options open for me if I want to continue on for a Masters (probably in Counseling).

I'm going to be in school forever. But I don't really mind. I'm in no hurry to get my degree and start a career. I'm here to enjoy my life and all its aspects. I love to learn...learn ANYTHING. So it will be a lot of work but enjoyable none the less.

Now, back to my summertime of leisure!!!!
