7/19/2005 09:36:00 AM|||Garnet|||Yeah...we got a TiVo. After months of debate, we finally came up with substantial justification for getting one! It only took eight total hours over the course of two days, three calls to our cable provider, and some tricky re-configuiring of the cabling outside of the house to get it working right! Horray! It's so much fun!!! When we're talking about the TiVo, we don't call it, "the TiVo." Actually, we refer to it as if it were a person. There is "the cable box," "the VCR" and "TiVo." He's already part of our family!
The Half-Blood Prince is great! I absolutely won't give anything away! Honey read a spoiler web site last week and came home telling me that he knows who dies in the story. He won't tell me (thank goddess!). My goal of reading the entire thing on Sunday was thwarted by getting a late start, falling asleep twice, and leaving for Best Buy to buy TiVo. Since the TV and internet weren't working all day yesterday, I spent most of the day reading it. I'm just over halfway through it and really, it's great! Just as good as the others but certainly more mature. The kids are sixteen now and it's obvious that they've learned a lot and grown out of a lot of their careless behavior. Love is in the air in this one! And a lot of characters from previous novels make their appearance. I can't wait to finish it so Honey can read it and then we can talk about it! If you have the chance, by all means, read it!
Oooo, I'm also reading Your Aura and Your Chakras: The Owner's Manual. I've recently come to recognize that I have a unique ability (gift? curse?) to detect, understand and absorb other people's energy. The negative energy that I absorb from people really gets me down and wears me out and I figured it was high time for me to learn to do something about it, learn to manage it, learn to cleanse my own energies and protect myself from harmful ones. I'm really excited about this!
Yesterday, while the TV and internet were down because we were halfway through working out the TiVo issue, I went a little stir crazy. I finally cleaned out our bedroom closet and other such things around the house. But I got really lonely around mid-morning. I am an internet junkie and have been for at least 10 years! At one point, I almost broke down and went to the library to use their computers for a bit. But I held back. It wasn't easy.
Now I'm curious, what sorts of techno-goodies can you not live without for more than one day???|||112178843109789572|||Blessed TiVo
