On Saturday, Honey and I went to Borders to pick up the Half-Blood Prince. While we were there, I wandered over to the Mythology section, looking for books on the relationship between the Virgin Mary and the Great Goddess. The Mythology section is located right next to a group of two sofas, and three comfortable chairs arranged around a coffee table. All of these seats were occupied by a group of women who were knitting and chatting up a storm. It looked so cute to me. I couldn't find any of the books I was looking for but I lingered a bit longer in the area in order to eavesdrop make certain that the books weren't there.
While I was doing so, I heard this conversation:

Lady 1: Hey are you still making that t-shirt that you wrote about on your blog?
Lady 2: Oh yes. And I'm using suchandsuch yarn for it. It's coming out loverly.

My ears perked up when I heard her say "blog." I had to physically hold myself back from running over there, jumping on the couch and hollaring, "ME TOO! I AM OF YOUR PEOPLE!" I wanted to ask them what their blog addresses were and I wanted to tell them mine. I wanted to share some popular names on my blogroll to see if they knew of any of them. Alas, I did none of these things. I didn't want to be thought of as rude for eavesdropping. In retrospect, though, they were sitting in the middle of a public retail store with dozens of people roaming around behind them. Surely, I wasn't the only one to pick up on bits of their conversation throughtout the morning.

Ah well, if you are one of these knitting ladies or know of them, please leave me a comment! We live in the same area and we all blog! That's two things we already have in common! Let's be friends!

I stumbled across two particularly great posts that I'd like to bring to your attention today:
