Long time, no post
Since I posted so much on Friday, I figured I’d take a few days off. That, and I couldn’t really come up with anything to talk about! But now I am flooded with jabber….
The concert Friday night was AWESOME! I do love me some Dave! I danced and boogied my booty off! I climbed a hundred million stairs a dozen times to get to the bathrooms (only drawback of Red Rocks) and drank plenty of beer. Watched the stoner frat boys sing along only to the newest songs (damn newbies). The next day my lungs and throat hurt from screaming so much, my leg muscles ached from all that climbing to pee, and my head hurt from the beer. IT ROCKED!!!!!
Honey is still downloading recordings of Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s shows! DMB did an additional concert with the Neville Brothers last night at Red Rocks to benefit the NOLA disaster. I am anxious to find out how much they raised at that event!
Now, to answer a couple questions in comments:
Jen - I looooooved Dancing Nancies because it’s my second favorite DMB song ever (Seek Up is my first fave but they didn’t play it). Louisiana Bayou was awesome, too. And that hippy cover song…I can’t remember the name of it…that was hella fun!
Scully - Where does one see videos anymore?!?! Hehe Seriously, though, I haven’t seen a video on MTV or VH1 in eons. I’d love to see a new Dave video esp. with Julia Roberts in it! I’ll hunt it down on one of the fan sites and check it out! Thanks for the tip!
Oh and a couple more things about the best band ever….we donated like 10 cans of food outside the show on Friday night and registered to win a poster by doing so. I did it to help out though, not for the poster.
And member that Dave and Tim show in Vegas I was blathering about a while back? Well, the tickets were on some kind of super special lock down VIP sale for only a select group of people earlier last week. They sold out in a heartbeat (DUHHH). Honey has been in contact with a woman on one of the fan site forums trying to get a pair of tickets that she bought in bulk. Today he scored! We got two tickets to the show. Unfortunately, they’re not two seats together but one of them is in section 100 so that can’t be a bad seat, eh? At least we get to go and we didn’t have to pay $300 per ticket to do it since that nice lady only charged us face value. WHEW!
Sunday, Honey and I sat down and watched half of the first season of Six Feet Under on DVD (thank you, library!). I didn’t mean to get him hooked on the show…I just wanted to know what all the hype was about. Well, he got hooked and we wasted the entire day making more jewelry and watching back to back episodes of it! LOVED IT! Oh, we finished the DVDs tonight and now I’ve got season two on order already!
I started the new John Irving novel a couple nights ago. Then my mom sent me an article she had found in a magazine about how this new book of his is mostly autobiographical. Me and mom are H-A-U-G-E fans of Irving’s so this was a real treasure to find out from her. I read with more gusto last night and ended up having a scandelous dream about him (he’s like in his 60’s for pete’s sake!). This one involves Irving’s regular images (semi-orphaned boy, sexual relationship with an older woman, private school in New England…I’m just waiting for the bear, a person missing an appendage and a transvestite!). And, rumor has it, he’s already working on a screenplay for it. WHEW!
Alright, that’s enough jabbering out of me! They don’t call me BlabberGail for nothin’!
G’nite!
