I have chronic neck and back problems. Lately, when I wake up in the mornings, my neck is all tense and sore and my hips feel like they’ve been hit with a sledge hammer all night. Over the years I’ve tried various contoured pillows for my head. I’ve purchased Tempurpedic knock offs for $60 from BedBathandBeyond before. They work for a while but then flatten out and start to defeat the purpose.

So I went out to the Healthy Back store the other day and bought myself a Tempurpedic Neck Pillow. I talked to the salesman at the store about my neck problems (because my doctor and my chiropractor were not offering any solutions) and he recommended I try a couple different pillows out. Of course, I instantly fell in love with this one! The salesman showed me how to smush the pillow the first few nights to break it in and make it softer. He promised me that I could return the pillow to the store if I wasn’t satisfied within two weeks. He also assured me that the Tempurpedic company had a 5 year guarantee that the pillow won’t flatten out or fail me in any way. (or so I heard) But dammit…I spent $125 freaking dollars on a freaking pillow for my freaking neck!!!! I was livid! “This better work!” I kept threatening the pillow all the way home. “You better not flatten out in a month!”

That was two days ago. I’ve had the best two mornings with a pain-free neck than I’ve had in years! I love that freaking pillow! I kept thinking about it all afternoon yesterday as I worked to tear down the holiday decor in our house. I couldn’t wait to go to bed and sleep on that perfect marshmallow pillow of the gods.

Which reminds me…what time is it? How can I justify a nap in the middle of the day…hmm….
