Friday’s Feast
I’ve been a very busy bee this week. Remember that room I told ya’ll I was going to redecorate, like, LAST YEAR?!? Well, I’m finally getting around to finishing it…err…doing it! I had a little trouble getting all of the wallpaper boarder off the wall because I think the last owners used rubber cement to paste it up there. I went back to the paint store where a kind lady suggested I use very hot water and white vinegar to take it off. WORKED LIKE A CHARM! So, all the paper and glue is off, wooden chair rails gone, holes and missing chunks of drywall are puttied and sanded, and seven different strips of different colors of paint are up on the walls. I think I have narrowed it down to two shades of purple. I’ll be spraying the orange peel junk on the repaired spots today and then over the weekend, covering up the blue paint with white paint. Maybe next week I’ll get the room completely painted! Woo hoo!
I get to go to work on Monday! HORRAY!!! School doesn’t start for another week but we lead teachers need to go in early to get the room and lesson plans ready. And my very first staff meeting, too! I can’t wait! I miss that place so much!
Today I am washing rugs, steam cleaning some spots on the carpet downstairs, vacuuming, washing curtains, and about a zillion other cleaning type things. I love it! (My back, however, does not!)
It’s been a while since we’ve had a Friday Feast so here ya go…

Have you ever seen a ghost or an angel?
“Seen” is a relative word. I have encountered a ghost a couple of times in various forms. Never actually saw a shimmer of a person in a white sheet, though. I’ve communicated with these ghosts and absolutely felt their presence.

What is your favorite board game?
Just about any board game there is. As an only child, I always felt left out of the Board Game Loop, if ya know what I mean. Everyone I knew had brothers or sisters with whom they would play games like Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, Battleship, Sorry, and the like. I had Sorry, Pictionary, and Junior Trivial Pursuit but my friends rarely wanted to play with me. So, now that I’m grown, I love board games because more people are often more willing to play! I don’t know why! I love games like Taboo and Cranium but Trivial Pursuit has got to be my default favorite.

What was the last movie you saw that made you cry?
King Kong. I cried when the dinosaurs ended up in a grid lock in a canyon and all started piling up on top of each other. I cried when Kong was exploited on stage like a freak. I cried when he got shot and killed on top of the Empire State Building. I’m a wuss about animals.

What would you do if you had 3 months off from your job?
Cry. Hahahahah. I love my job and I’ve been off from my job for almost a month. I’ve enjoyed the time at home to get things done around here but I’m ready to go back.

What kind of shoes are you wearing today?
Purple Crocs. Always. Scratch that…sometimes I do wear my brown ones. Wish I had pink ones.
