How the Kids at School Celebrated My Birthday With Me
First, I had to wear this big floppy hat all day that looks like a birthday cake with big ole candles sticking out of the top. Then, they all sang to me after I put it on. Throughout the day, I heard the following comments:
“My gramma had a birfday one time.”
“It’s almost my birthday too and you can come to my birthday party at my house or at Chuck E Cheese.”
“You don’t look like it’s your birthday!”
“But if it’s your birthday, where’s the cake????”
Me: “Guess how old I am.”
Little O: “Um. I don’t know. Thirty one?”
Me: “Wow! Close! I’m thirty!”
Little O: “Oh that’s getting old. Is that why you have those big blue veins in your hand because you’re old?”
“I know what I’m going to get you for Christmas and your birthday and it’s something really cool and it’s candy from my mom’s work!”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE MY JOB!
