Bad Blogger, sorry
I’ve been a bad blogger lately, and for that I am sorry. So much stuff is going on around here, it’s hard to make time to write about it!
I healed well and quickly from my surgery. Got the stitches out last Friday. I can resume normal brushing and eating on that side but still no flossing yet (HORRAY! Finally someone is telling me to NOT floss!!!). Not sore. Just a bit tender in between the teeth at the gums. I go back in three weeks to check up and “polish.” Hope they don’t do a “spit shine” on that polishing! LOL
I have caught the home improvement bug. We got new carpet last week in our downstairs area. In preparation for the new carpet, we cleaned out our bookshelves and moved everything to the garage. I voted to get rid of the nasty old formica bookcases and matching coffee table that were hand-me-downs from Pete’s family. He didn’t really get a vote. He got a motorcycle instead (LOL! That excuse is going to last me a long time!). Anyway, I talked him into building some bookshelves and attaching them to one of the walls in our front room (aka the Sitting Room). Sister was going to help me paint some old furniture so we all went to Home Depot last weekend to buy our respective materials. In the middle of the paint department I was struck with a new idea! Let’s paint that wall BEFORE we build the bookcase to it and BEFORE we decide on what colors to pain the old furniture! Woo hoo!
Several trips to Home Depot, the fancy paint store, eight color test patches on the wall and two feng shui’ed pages later (yes I did a map of our house to help us decide on a color) and we’ve chosen a nice deep green, called Balsam (the top right color in the picture below).

We prepped the wall last night and tonight I trimmed and painted the primer on the wall. We have a lot going on this week so we might not get back to it for a couple of days but sooner or later that room is going to look AMAZING! I guess getting that new carpet really lit a fire under me and kicked me into taking pride in my home.
This week is known as the Week of the Young Child at my center and we have all kinds of events every day. And most of my kiddos are graduating at the end of next week as they head off to Kindergarten. Awww. I’m gonna miss them. Twenty one kids in our class of 34 are graduating. Lil’ whippersnappers.
It’s raining now and my back’s hurtin from all that painting. I must to bed. I miss you all! I’ll make my rounds to your blogs as soon as I can!
