I seriously want to move this blog from WordPress to Blogger. It’s so much easier helping Dobby with his blog over there than it is for me to blog here. There, I can easily upload pictures, add funky links and all kinds of cool stuff. Here on WP, I’m very limited in what I can manipulate. I hate to give up this beautiful template that Lilac Pixels created for me but it’s just not working for me anymore on WP. Maggie recently made the big switch and since she’s the one who got me started blogging in the first place, it’s no surprise I’ll be following in her footsteps. So, keep your eyes peeled for in the coming weeks I hope to be switching this one over.
Hard week at work. Lots going on. I was at the Childhood Educational Summer Symposium up in Breckenridge earlier in the week, learning all about a new curriculum our center is thinking of using. I learned a lot of stuff in a short amount of time and it’s really reminded me of how much passion I truly have for teaching children. Good thing, too, because I just found out that the 2.5-3.5 year old room that I transitioned into this summer is going to become MY room when the fall semester starts in late August! The current lead teacher in that room is leaving to have her baby any day now and she’s not coming back. It’s bittersweet that she’s not returning. It’s really the best thing for her and her baby but we’re friends as well as co-workers and I’m going to miss working with her and seeing her every day. Hopefully we will stay in touch as we promise we will and may someday even run our own center together!
I saw my OBGYN this morning. She changed around some of my daily medications and gave me a bunch of prenatal vitamins. She also told me to “do it as much as possible!” LOL!! I told her that I’ve been tracking my body for a while now and I’m anxious to take a PG test! She asked me about my symptoms (nausea, migrane, mild cramping) and, to motivate me, she said I’m probably pregnant but it’s only been three days so it’s too soon to tell from a test. DOH! Stupid science! LOL Anyway, I’ll take a test early next week and then hold my breath until my period’s supposed to come the first of the month. Wouldn’t it be great if……!!!!!
I saw my dentist and my periodontist and got results back from my doctor yesterday. Here is what I found out:
NO Diabetes (HA! I didn’t think so! Stupid periodontist!)
Gums look GREAT and HEALTHY!
Stitches removed from right side of mouth and healing progressing!
Know what that means?!?!?!
We’re officially starting again to try to get pregnant!!!! HORRAY!!!!!!!
I’ve decided to not chart my temps and all that just yet. As interesting as it was last year when I started it, I already learned a lot about my own body and my cycles and I think I know now when I’m ovulating and whatnot. I will only be keeping track of when we “make an attempt at creation” (*ahem*) and any symptoms I may experience. I’ll do this for a few months and see what happens.
I’m meeting with my OBGYN next week to discuss some alternatives to a medication I am currently on that may or may not be condusive to baby-making.
Wish us luck!!!!!
A couple people have emailed me lately and asked why I haven’t blogged in, like, forever! It’s mostly because I don’t have a whole lot to share with you but also I’m spending most of my blogging energy helping Dobby on his blog. Go check him out over there. Many more interesting things happen to my dog than to me these days!
Actually, last week I had my second (and hopefully last!) periodontal surgery. My gums have stitches in them and are still pretty tender but I’m doing well. The periodontist expressed some concern that I might have diabetes since there was so much bone loss on one of my molars. But I think he forgot that I hadn’t been to a dentist in 12 years and took very bad care of my teeth until late last year. Anyway, I’m going to my doctor for a physical and a diabetes test just to be safe next week. Once these antibiotics are out of my system in a month or so, we’ll get busy on that baby makin’ project that’s been on hold for my stupid teeth!
Work is keeping me busy. I love the young ones. I’m the lead teacher in the 2.5-3.5 year olds now and will continue as such in the fall when my co-teacher takes time off to have and care for her first baby! On a daily basis I am amazed as what a vast difference there is between these children in only one year of age. It’s totally different trying to communicate with them and it is obvious that the older kids (4 and 5 year olds) have mastered some of the more basic skills than these younger ones. It makes perfect sense, logically but I forgot how much fun these little ones can be! True, Thursday really sucked because I was tired from having a party on the fourth and the kids were tired from staying up late to see fireworks and a couple of them threw tantrums all morning but I still love my job and am lucky to be doing what I’ve always wanted to do.
Since today is 7/7/07, Honey and I are riding our motorcycles up to Blackhawk to do some gambling. Honey’s into numerology and he wants to test our luck on the significant date. Cross your fingers!
So go check out Dobby’s blog if you get a chance. I have found blogger.com much more user-friendly than Wordpress these days so I’m considering revamping this blog back to Blogger at some point. It’s a big complicated move so I’m procrastinating it!
