Update on Health

Last night I had two small bowls of cheddar potato soup and an apple! Today I had another bowl of soup and some cantelope! Tonight I’ll have green beans and mashers and some chicken. My stomach still aches but it’s just residual surgery pain at this point.

Both Nurse Skippy and Dr. Gloom-and-Doom’s nurse called me today. Both wanted to see how I was fairing. I told them both I was doing much better but I told Dr. G&D’s nurse that I wasn’t exactly revved up to have another go at embolization any time real soon. She completely understood. She is scheduling me for a CAT scan so we can get a baseline reading of the tumor since he put that magical contrast into it that will show the actual tumor almost indefinitely. Nurse Skippy is so nice now. He asked if I needed any more fluids. Hahaha! That’s cuz Honey had to drag my dehydrated miserable butt in there last week for two big bags of fluid and some IV pain meds. Nurse Skippy said he saw that I’m on the schedule for more systemic chemo (a new cocktail) for this Friday (two days away). I told him if I feel the way I do today, I probably won’t want it so soon after getting back on my feet. But if I am feeling much better by then then we’ll go for it. I’m seeing the Dr. Kane before the chemo is scheduled so I’ll get her input before making any decisions. I could really use another week to build up my strength (that whole “quality of life” issue rears its ugly head) but Honey’s off from work every other Friday and he’s off this Friday and won’t be off again for another two weeks. I suppose I could ask him to take next Friday off for me and chemo anyway. But I don’t know. We’ll see what happens this Friday. Either way, I’ll listen to my gut (literally!).

Something Fun to Kill the Time

I found this great website via Daisy the Curly Cat’s blog just today. It’s called Where’s George. You can plug in the serial number of any money in your wallet to see where it is has been. Unfortunately, since I only had two dollar bills in my wallets, they both came up empty and mine were the initial enteries for these bills. But Daisy found one which had a bit of a history.

If you’ve got nothing better to do with 5 minutes in your day, give this site a shot! You never know what you’ll learn about your money!
